Become A CASA Volunteer
CASA for Children of Mercer and Burlington Counties is
seeking individuals who may be interested in becoming a CASA volunteer for a
child living in out-of-home placements (foster homes, residential facilities or
treatment homes.) Training classes are held two times a year. Advocates
attend 30 hours of training before being sworn in by a Family Court Judge,
enabling them to carry out case investigations and make recommendations about
permanency for the child assigned to the. Additionally, CASA in-service trainings
are offered monthly so that advocates may continuously broaden their knowledge
and keep up to date with child welfare and court policies as well as
substantive issues.
Are You Interested in Volunteering?
We invite you to attend one of our volunteer information sessions where we will describe the CASA program in detail and answer any questions you might have. After attending the volunteer information session, you will need to fill out an application and be interviewed by CASA staff. Please check our dates for our
upcoming information sessions and sign up for one or contact our offices to obtain more information about volunteer activities and training.
